Birth Certificate Replacement Virginia – Express Delivery- Online Orders
The Virginia Department of Health doesn’t accept online orders but uses a third party company called VitalChek Network as many other states do. VitalChek is the official government authorized service. Its secure and can be accessed 24 hours a day. You can track the status of your order online or by contacting the customer support service. In addition to the cost of the certificate, VitalChek also charges a fee for this service. And you will have to provide additional supporting documents that prove your identity to get your replacement birth certificate. You can visit the VitalChek website directly to use the express delivery by visiting www.vitalcheck.com. All major credit cards are accepted, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. You must be listed on the credit card or check being used to pay the required fee. VitalChek recommends selecting a courier service like UPS or FedEx for shipping which gives you the ability to track your shipment.
Requesting Virginia Birth Certificate by Mail
The Viringia Department of Health encourages you to order your Virginia birth certificate through the mail. Submit your application with a signed application or letter, which can be found on their website www.vdh.state.va.us. You must also include legible identification documentation and payment before we can process the order. If submitting a letter include; name at birth, date of birth, place of birth, mother’s maiden name, father’s name, relationship to the person on the certificate, reason for the certificate, area code and day time phone number, and a return address.
